On Wednesday, February 6th 2 p.m. local time, Kansas City Chiefs parade experienced a shooting during their celebration. The shooting was caused by an argument with strangers, Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller, due to the fact that one of them was allegedly staring at the other. There was back and forth talk until one of them said “I am going to get you” Mays took this as a physical threat and randomly shot someone from that group. Dominic Miller told investigators that he was shot in the back, then investigators confronted Miller saying they had footage of him chasing May’s group and shooting, which then he admitted he fired four to five shots. These caused commotion in the crowd leading to pushing, running, and people getting crushed, which lead to multiple serious injuries.
Approximately 22 people were injured around the ages of 8-47 and one person killed. Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller both have been charged with murder and both are held with a 1 million bond each.
