Popular British band, Oasis, has reunited after a 15 year hiatus. Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher have come together and put their family beef aside to play 14 concerts in the UK in 2025.
The Gallagher feud started back in 2009 after playing together and being a band since 1991. Oasis was formed in Manchester, and consisted of brothers Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll. In 1993 Oasis signed to the independent record label Creation Records, and from there they released their debut album “Definitely Maybe”.
Oasis eventually became one of the defining bands of the Britpop era. Their prime was marked by the time of the release of their second album “(What’s the story) Morning Glory?” with hits such as “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”.
These years cemented their place as rock legends, and the band became known for their unique sound, clothing aesthetic, and the volatile relationship between Liam and Noel. Oasis dominated the British music scene and enjoyed global success during this period, with their sound becoming a symbol of 90’s rock.
However, as the 2000’s progressed, tensions within the band, especially between the Gallagher brothers, began to take a toll on the band entirely. Despite the continued release of successful albums, internal conflicts became more frequent, and often spilled into the public eye.
By 2009, these tensions reached a breaking point, leading to the heated backstage argument before a show in Paris, where Noel ultimately decided to quit the band. Oasis officially disbanded after this incident, ending an era of the most influential rock bands of their generation.
On August 25, 2024 Liam Gallagher released a few out of the blue quotes that were exceptionally suspicious.
“I never did like that word FORMER” and a twitter user asked him what he had planned for 2025 to which he responded “WORLD DOMINATION” essentially hinting at the regrouping of the band.
On August 27, 2024 it was announced that Oasis would be going on tour in July 2025 for their reunion tour, just two days before the 30th anniversary of their debut album.
