On September 26, 2024, Lana Del Rey (Elizabeth Grant)– one of the most popular artists in the indie pop scene– gained a pearl on her ring with her marriage to Jeremy Dufrene. Dufrene and Del Rey’s wedding
took place at an outdoor venue where Dufrene hosts alligator tours– Yes, Mr. Dufrene is an alligator swamp guide with Arthur’s Airboat Tours, a venue in Des Allemandes, Louisiana– and it’s said to be popular by locals.
Not much is known about Dufrene’s past, but it’s been revealed he was a divorcee and a father of two.
On the singer’s Instagram, Honeymoon, there was no recent announcement or photos with her Louisiana beau. Though almost no one was aware of her current relationship with Dufrene, photos dating back to 2019 from Del Rey’s Facebook resurfaced, presumably being after taking one of his tours.
As usual, the paparazzi found its way to gain any kind of footage, videos and photos of Del Rey’s wedding began to circulate through fan pages.
Footage revealed the waterfront wedding was set up with a white tent along the edge of deep waters, with a small family gathering, and Del Rey’s siblings Caroline Grant and Charlie Hill-Grant were reportedly spotted.
As the ceremony began, photos of Robert Grant– Del Rey’s father –were seen leading Del Rey up the grassy path past an array of large tour boats. Del Rey was gowned in a simplistic, delicate white gown with ruffled lining– which Del Rey claimed to have thrifted– love a sustainable icon!
“Unusual, sudden, and shocking.” Have been the more tame words describing the marriage from Del Rey’s fans on social media. Some mocked Dufrene’s appearance, “ick, really?” or “out of his league” and worse have been thrown around. Despite rude comments, many fans have shown immense support, giving congratulations to the newlyweds, and even album speculations.
“Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing,” Del Rey wrote on a recent Instagram post, “We’re very happy.”
