Newly Voted Student Body President

Morgan Miller, Writer

Kelechi Odunze was voted as the 2022-23 Student Body President by the student body and advisors after much considerable thinking. Many people are looking forward to the new year and seeing what Kelechi Odunze has in store for us.

“The campaign process was really fun and exciting!” Odunze said.” I loved designing the posters, flyers, and pins and everyone watching as everyone was getting an idea of what was happening. It was really stressful though , and during campaign week it felt like I couldn’t do anything until we heard the results.

Despite the fact that the campaign was difficult and demanding, Odunze was grateful for the outcome. He enjoyed working on his stuff in order to offer himself the best opportunity of winning. He not only wanted to win, but he also wanted the student body to have a fantastic leader for the coming year, and he believed he would be a good fit.

“I wanted to be Student Body President because I wanted to help make an impact on our school in a positive way,” Odunze said. “When I was a freshman, the Student Body President at the time was an amazing friend, student, athlete, and student council member, and I wanted to be like that too. I wanted to inspire other people like she inspired me.”

Kelechi wants to develop our school in a variety of ways in order to empower the students. He is not just an excellent prospect, but he has also demonstrated that he is incredibly qualified. He is also the president of a number of other groups and served as Student Body Vice President this school year. With these credentials, he understands what is required to properly lead our school.

“My plans for next year as Student Body President is to help increase student voice, make our student council more diverse, and to make school more exciting! The whole point of student council is to build upon what we did the year before and improve, and I hope to do that as Student Body President through our events and service”, Odunze added.

We can expect and look forward to the new school year with these promises, thanks to Kelechi Odunze’s efforts to create a pleasant environment. We can’t wait to see what Kelechi Odunze has in store for us now that he’s been elected president!
