Josh Carino won the 2022 Mr. Diamondback pageant which took place on March 2nd.  Mr. Diamondback is a pageant-like competition where select senior boys participate in answering questions, giving their best pick up lines and showing off their talent all in hopes of winning money for their preferred charity.

Carino was excited to be a part of the show and be able to put some focus on the LGBTQ+ community. 

“I chose to participate in Mr.Diamondback to show representation to my community and to have some fun,” Carino said. “It’s my last year at D.O since I am a senior, so I really wanted to show myself out this one last time.”

Josh Carino was able to showcase his own talents, and impress many of the judges. Not only did Josh Carino impress the crowd, he felt great doing it.  

“My favorite part of the show was being able to show off my dancing skills as my unique talent,” Carino said, “I had a lot of fun doing it and I think the crowd enjoyed my performance as well,” says Carino.

As a participant and winner of the pageant, Carino was able to raise a significant amount of money for the charity along with the other contestants.
