This last week saw the release of the new Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz. A revival of the mysterious night crime fighting character, moviegoers compare the portrayal of the superhero from the likes of Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, to now Robert Pattinson.

The question striking all fans of th
e character is whether or not the movie is worth going to see. The total running time of the movie tops out to almost 3 hours, which is much longer than a typical movie would run. With an exclusive in-theater release only, The Batman cannot be found on streaming services, unlike many of the other movies that have been released during the era of Covid. This makes watching the movie a more involved process, but though it may seem lengthy, it is definitely worth heading down to the theaters to check out.

Robert Pattinson portrays the character in a unique way, unlike the previous on screen portrayals that bestow before him. The morality of Batman is questioned throughout the film as Robert Pattinson portrays the character in a more dark and ruinous manner. Compared to the previous portrayals of Batman, Robert Pattinson successfully portrays Batman as not a self-righteous superhero, rather a morally gray character who still sees growth throughout the duration of the story. This makes for an interesting watch as Robert Pattinson’s Batman is not a stale character who sees no change throughout the film, but rather leads to an intriguing journey as the viewer sees the transformation of Batman throughout the film.

Although critics claim that the movie is too long and drawn out, the tension that is built from the slow-paced scenes build up to a climax that is worth the wait. The action scenes are well paced and substantial as they all add to the plot of the movie. Claims that the movie runs short of attention grabbing action scenes are countered with the fact that the action scenes are all shot in a way that will leave you amused. Every action scene is shot so that it will allow you to feel every emotion the characters are feeling. This is something that definitely makes watching the film worthwhile.

Whether or not you flock to the movie theaters to see Robert Pattinson on screen, or are interested in seeing the revival of this well famed superhero, if you are interested in seeing a film riddled with mystery and tragedy, then The Batman is meant for you.
