The official season for the Men’s Volleyball team has begun. With a lot of preparation and instruction from Mr. Porter, the squad feels optimistic about the season’s outcome. Zac James and Shane Young are two returning Varsity players looking for a successful conclusion to their high school careers.

“This year on the volleyball team we hope to get back to back state championships and go undefeated in our conference,” James said. 

The squad was able to win the state championship last season. This achievement established history for our school, and the squad is working hard to improve even more this season. The team is full of talented players, many of them are seniors. They want to leave their career on a high note.

“As captain, it’s my responsibility to lead the team and get us out of rough spots,” James said. “It’d also be my job to be a good role model for the younger guys on the team so they can do the same next year.”

Being a captain entails a great deal of responsibility. Zac James has once again stood up to the plate to lead his club. His four years in Student Council have honed his leadership abilities. The squad is not just focused on winning, but they also love working together and having fun.

“My favorite part of being on the volleyball team is seeing our friendship off the court turn into teamwork on the court,” Young said. “My favorite part about the team this year is getting to beat all of my club teammates who I’ve played with for years,” James said. 

Our own Men’s Volleyball team intends to return to the state finals with devotion and effort. They are having fun while working hard to achieve their objectives. Come support and cheer on your Varsity volleyball team to encourage them!
