She was a cherished member of her community and school, as well as, brought joy to everyone with her infectious smile and determination. Her passion for sports, particularly flag football, was evident to anyone who knew her.
“My favorite memory with Shar was that every time I was a manager for centennial, she would always be the one that comes with me and when nobody else wanted to she would always always downtown all the time with me,” Aleah Jane Bui quotes.
To many, Ashari’s passing left a void that could never truly be filled. Her loss was deeply felt by her friends, family, teammates, and the community as a whole. The void left by Asharis’s absence was echoed through the halls of her school and field where she once played with boundless energy.
Harley Johnston states, “She was probably one of the most positive people on our team. She was always our cheerleader for everyone, no matter who is was, no matter what game we we’re doing and her compassion and love for football”
As this school year began, the players on the flag football team decided to honor her memory in a unique and meaningful way.

As they chose to wear the same backpack that Ashari used to wear, this simple yet powerful gesture was a way to ensure that Asharis spirit would always be with them, both on and off the field. Wearing Asharis’s backpack served as a tribute to her memory and brought the team closer together. It fostered a sense of togetherness that extended beyond the boundaries of the sports field.
“I feel like we’re closer, I feel like the backpacks make us closer as a team because we can find each other with the backpacks. It just represents Shari, and it’s just like a memory nobody will ever forget.” Kaaliyah Robinson explains.
