Who is Matthew Perry?
Actor Matthew Perry is Canadian-American, best recognized for playing Chandler Bing in hit series “Friends.” Over the course of his career, he has made numerous appearances in TV episodes and movies.
What’s the News?
Perry’s assistant, Briana Brancato, discovered him unresponsive in his single-stand jacuzzi in his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023, when she had returned from running errands. Brancato had called the fire department, after pulling his head out to the edge, considering Perry was too heavy to be moved by one person. The fire department determined there was no sign of waterlogging, therefore Perry could not have drowned. Some have suggested that he suffered from a heart attack. This could have prevented Perry from having the physical strength necessary to remove himself out of the steaming water causing him to fall unconscious. The question of why Perry passed away, in his jacuzzi, remains unanswered.
Reactions From the Cast
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family.” At last David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow shared a joint statement about Matthew’s passing. Jennifer Aniston was aware of Perry’s prior drug misuse in 2004, when they nearly lost him to the substance. They mistakenly believed that Perry was finally doing better, but it turns out he might have only been concealing his drug use.
Reactions From DO
“The show ‘Friends’ was a part of my childhood and I was saddened to hear the news,” said Noelle Vasquez, a sophomore. “I think he might have been intoxicated by his medication, because when you’re drowning your body would have to wake you up.” “His death was very sudden and sad. I hope that they figure out what truly happened.” Said Alayna Nickels, a freshman who was also aware of the iconic series “Friends.” Many people, including students, are still waiting to find out the real reason for Matthew Perry’s death and what led to the loss of such a goodhearted actor.
