Over time social media has become a part of our everyday routine. Whether it be for scrolling, posting, or communicating. Social media provides greater connectivity with our community, friends, and family.
Desert Oasis High School 11th-grade student Noah Lacek has been dedicating his time outside of school to creating the new social media platform, EveryBuddy. EveryBuddy is a platform designed to cater to its users, and give an experience unlike any other.
Lacek stated,” I’ve been working on this website for about a year and a half, actually constructing it. But the idea came about before eighth grade, so a very long time. It’s been a lot of learning the way programming languages and constructing ideas. It’s been a very exciting process.”
The creation of a social media platform is a complicated process. This project has been in progress for quite some time. Lacek has been hard at work to release EveryBuddy and all its upcoming updates.
“Right now this entire platform has pretty much all been contracted by me,” says Lacek,” I have some friends who once things get big they’re going to help a little bit. But everything right now is pretty much maintainable just for me right now.”
Business ideas aren’t always what was originally planned and EveryBuddy was no exception. Originally EveryBuddy was planned to be a platform that would give users access to almost anything Google or Safari.
Lacek commented,” It’s crazy because when it all started it was a completely different idea. It’s kind of like how most big companies are. They have this pivot. It’s the same name as what it was before (EveryBuddy) But a completely different idea. Before it was supposed to be an everything app. but you don’t need an app for everything. So then it started as a social media idea. So I just shipped it, I thought that social media was a whole different ball game. And I just want to throw myself into it..”
Nowadays social media is a platform used to push negativity and political stances. This platform will allow for everybody to promote change, and contribute their ideas. Lacek is striving to make a change for the better in this industry.
“I’m not very fond of how social media is run sometimes, of course, there’s always going to be run the same way in some sense because of just how we humans interact with the social system but felt like it needed some sort of change or something different to it.” Lacek shared, “I think one of the most exciting things you can do is to innovate or create something new or maybe exciting, and I hope that’s what can come along with this is creating something new that is more tuned for users, and just overall better. I think that’s one of the most important things you can do is to create something better than it was before.”
All great things take time and Lacek is working hard to make EveryBuddy a better place for users to interact. Along with all of its current features like premium, page customization, free verifications, and more. Many new features are in the works and will be coming soon to the platform.
Lacek further explained,” I want to make premium, really interesting and it may not even be a premium at some point. Right now. It is a paid thing. You can do advanced customization for the backgrounds, images and animations, audio for your profiles. You can get verified, and that was another thing. I’m looking into creating it into an app because right now it’s web-based. So it’s really easy to get converted to app code. It’s not too hard. I’m actually working on that right now. So I would say look forward to those things.”
Out of the many features EveryBuddy has to offer, the profile customization is the most advanced. The profile customization is a great way for users to express themselves and meet like-minded individuals.
Lacek stated, “My favorite part of the website has to be the profiles. You can add audio and animations to the background of your profiles, it makes for some cool profiles that I’ve seen my friends just kind of mess around with what they have in their profiles. They have some strange profiles, but they’re really funny.”
